Griff's Propane Exchange Acquires Vets Propane

logo top for Griff.jpg

We are very excited to announce that we added Vets Propane to the Griff’s Propane, Inc. family of companies!!! Griff’s has always had a close alliance with Vets Propane. We have known Vets Propane founder, Issac Robinson, for many years and supported his ambition to serve as a Combat Medic in the Army, which he did for 10 years. When he returned home, Griff’s Propane Exchange owner, Bob Griffin, mentored Issac as he launched Vets Propane based in Albion, NY, in 2012 and helped him grow his business across 7 counties in Western New York. Issac’s vision was to promote the welfare of veterans like himself and provide veterans with jobs. He sold his business to Andriy Basisty in 2017, who continued to grow the business and faithfully serve not only his customers, but the veterans who serve our country, donating regularly to the Veterans Outreach Center in Rochester, NY. We will faithfully continue the mission and values of Vets Propane and are honored with the opportunity.

Easiest Way to Tell How Much Propane You Have Left in Your Tank

Planning to host a barbecue but unsure if you have enough propane in your tank to cook all of the food? Here is an easy way to estimate how much propane is left in your tank so you don’t run out of gas before your food is served:

  1. Fill a coffee cup or measuring cup with very warm tap water.

  2. Pour the warm water on the side of the propane tank.

  3. Touch the side of the tank where the warm water was poured. The warm part of the tank is empty. The cool part of the tank is full.

A full tank generally provides approximately 15 to 20 hours of grill time. Happy grilling!

Best Homemade Chicken Barbecue Marinade

Homemade Barbecue Chicken Marinade

For me, this is the flavor of summer growing up in Upstate New York. It makes the most delicious, moist, flavorful, memorable chicken! Enjoy, from my family to yours!

1 Cup Crisco oil; 2/3 Cup white vinegar; 3 TBSP poultry seasoning; 2 TSP salt; 1 egg plus 2 egg whites

Beat ingredients together until well blended. Marinate skin-on, bone-in split chicken breasts and pieces overnight. Grill on low, basting often.
